National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Essay

I. Recorded Background The activity to build up a ward on Retiro Street started in 1941, with the solicitation of the Capuchins in the Philippines to the Rev. Michael ODoherty, Archbishop of Manila. On walk 28, 1942, an announcement was given building up the Sta. Teresita del Nino Jesus Parish, the first name of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. Development of the congregation, in any case, was deferred as a result of World War II. Revered inside the impermanent church was the picture of our Lady of Lourdes. To guard the picture during the war, it was moved here and there, until it rested for quite a while in the sanctuary of Sta. Teresita on Mayon Street. On February 10, 1951, the picture was taken back to Sta. Teresita Parish on Retiro. In 1997, on the forty-fifth establishment commemoration, Our Lady of Lourdes ward was proclaimed a national place of worship, with the endorsement of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines. It has its own parochial school offering instruction from pre-school to seco ndary school. II. Strategy/Realizations Staying alert with what's going on in our Parish and knowing the Activities and Programs of the Church are the things that I created after I did my examination. I discovered that we should serve our Parish first before whatever else so we can stretch out our appreciation to them. I likewise discovered that there are such huge numbers of things and ways that we can do to turn out to be nearer to God and to fortify our confidence in God. We should figure out how to invest energy to serve God and to bond with our neighbors. With that, we turned out to be nearer and fortified as a Christian Community to serve and to reinforce our confidence in God.
